IU Youth 2 Children Project Is changing India at grass root levels

IU Youth 2 Children Project | Join hands to Volunteer | www.iuy2c.org
Education is the transmission of civilization. Education is more than a luxury; it is a responsibility that society owes to itself. It is none, but we who are responsible for the world!

The literacy rate is increasing each year, but at a rate which requires 100 more years to attain 100% literacy rate. There is a lot of talk about education in today’s world, but how many are actually educated? Can we ever imagine a world full of educated people? In spite of having broad minded people at every corner of the world, reaching out to people just at the finger touch, countries united, a new revolution emerging each day and much more, every person beams a smile instinctively at the very thought of an “educated world.”

Some people just dream, but some make dreams turn into reality. 4 volunteers from Bangalore named themselves as Distant Dreamers and had a clear motive to reach out to as many underprivileged kids as possible. They set out to involve many volunteers and take permissions from government schools to carry out IU-Y2C project. Students were coached about basics of cleanliness, good habits, importance of education, initials of internet and its applications and developing positive attitude. The experience was truly enriching. It inspired kids, gave courage for the volunteers to speak on stage and instilled passion on both the ends. The experience and learning was mixed but had an emotional touch to it.  The feeling of having taught someone
and being one of the reasons for the progress of the country is impossible to pen down.

Some of the stories of kids touched the volunteers’ hearts and drove them to continue inspiring many kids. The volunteers were responsible for reaching a massive number of 65 schools, addressing up to 13,059 children in a matter of 5 days. Hats off to Harikiran, Anusha, Harshitha, Hemanth , Vrushal , Shivraj, Rajath, Keerthan , Supreet, Viha , Chaitanya, Kruthika ,Ankitha , Meghana , Prerana , Mamta , Sandeep , Chandrakanth , Shivakumar , Pushpak , Sachin and Kavya for their brilliant work and immeasurable efforts.

If every individual stands up to bring about a change and works vigorously towards it, then “educated India” will no longer be a distant dream.
